COOPERATIVE EDUCATION
 
 
Cooperative Education (Co-op) is a nation-wide, work experience program that formally integrates student's academic and career interests with productive work experiences. The Co-op partnership offers employers opportunity to recruit talented, trainable prospective employees and gives students an opportunity to gain paid, career related experience.

Student's- Why Co-op?

  • Apply classroom knowledge to practical experiences.
  • Earn money for school tuition and expenses.
  • Establish contacts and begin networking for future employment.
  • Learn and practice job seeking skills that include resume writing, letter writing, interviewing and professional workplace preparation.
  • Individualized Co-op career exploration counseling and search assistance.
  • Assistance with resumes and mock interview.
  • Work skills workshops.
  • Regular skills workshops.
  • Regular work site evaluations and feedback.

Eligibility
  • Be a full-time or half-time classified UH Manoa student.
  • Be at the sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate level and have declared a major.
  • Be in good academic and student standing and have at least two full semesters remaining before graduation.
  • Meet with a Co-op counselor to review your Co-op options and application procedures.
 
E-mail us! Coop2600@hawaii.edu or meet with a Co-op counselor. Co-op counselor walk in hours Monday, Tuesday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Wednesday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Thursday 8-12; and Friday by appointment only.
